Program Description

Lush green valleys, mountain landscapes and traditions you won't find anywhere else - La Gomera is one of the most picturesque islands in the Canary Islands. During this full-day trip from Tenerife, you'll discover its natural beauty, visit charming villages and learn about a unique whistling language recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Your journey will begin at Los Cristianos Port in Tenerife, where you'll board a ferry to La Gomera. During the crossing, you'll enjoy views of the Atlantic Ocean. Once you arrive on the island, you'll board a coach to begin your sightseeing adventure.

One of the first highlights will be the Hermigua Valley, known for its lush vegetation and mountain slopes. The green landscapes, traditional buildings and surrounding hills create a setting characteristic of La Gomera. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to admire the scenery and take some memorable photographs.

Next, you'll head towards Agulo, one of the island's picturesque villages. In this part of La Gomera, you'll experience the relaxed pace of local life and discover landscapes that set the island apart from the popular tourist resorts of the Canary Islands.

In Agulo, you'll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you'll sample dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients from the region. It's a wonderful opportunity to discover the flavours of Canarian cuisine and relax after exploring the island.

If available, during lunch you'll also have the chance to watch a demonstration of Silbo Gomero - La Gomera's traditional whistling language. This remarkable form of communication, once used to send messages across the island's deep valleys, has been recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. You'll discover how entire messages can be communicated through whistles!

A day trip to La Gomera from Tenerife combines spectacular mountain scenery, local flavours and centuries-old traditions, offering a fascinating insight into the culture of the Canary Islands.
