Program Description

Dense forests, volcanic hills and impressive cliffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean - Anaga Rural Park is one of Tenerife's most picturesque destinations. During this trip, you'll explore mountain trails with a local guide, learn about the region's traditions and sample local specialities.

Your hike will begin near Cruz del Carmen, in Anaga Rural Park, located in the north-east of Tenerife. This mountainous area is known for its lush forests, steep slopes and deep ravines. During an approximately two-hour guided hike, you'll admire the diverse vegetation and landscapes that make this part of the island so distinctive.

The route will take you through dense forests towards Taborno, home to a distinctive volcanic rock formation. You'll then leave the forest behind and reach more open terrain, where you'll enjoy views of the cliffs and Tenerife's north-eastern coastline. Here, you'll see the striking contrast between the green mountains and the rugged Atlantic coast.

Along the way, your guide will also introduce you to the local traditions and rural life of Anaga. You'll learn what everyday life was like in the mountain villages, how local communities made use of the region's natural resources and why traditional customs remain an important part of Canarian culture.

To round off the experience, you'll enjoy a meal prepared with local ingredients. It's a wonderful opportunity to sample the traditional flavours of Tenerife and relax after your mountain hike.

Hiking through Anaga Rural Park is an excellent choice for nature lovers looking to combine outdoor adventure with an insight into the local culture and cuisine of the Canary Islands.
