Program Description
Leave the busy tourist resorts behind and venture into the wild heart of the Akamas Peninsula on an exciting jeep safari. Rugged coastal cliffs, remote beaches, winding off-road trails and untouched natural landscapes make this an ideal adventure for those looking to discover a more adventurous side of Cyprus.
Begin by exploring the striking Sea Caves, where waves have shaped impressive rock formations along the Mediterranean coastline. Nearby, the famous EDRO III shipwreck creates a dramatic sight against the rocky shore. The route also passes through the banana plantations of the Paphos region before reaching Avakas Gorge, a remarkable natural wonder known for its towering rock walls and dramatic scenery.
The adventure continues towards Lara Bay, a secluded stretch of coastline where sea turtles come to nest during the breeding season. Travelling by jeep through the rugged terrain of Akamas, you'll experience the peninsula's untamed character, passing through peaceful forest areas and stopping at scenic viewpoints overlooking the surrounding wilderness.
Another memorable stop is the Baths of Aphrodite, a natural spring hidden among lush vegetation. According to Greek mythology, this is where the goddess of love and beauty once bathed, adding a touch of ancient legend to the island's spectacular natural scenery.
During the excursion, you can also enjoy an optional lunch at a traditional seaside tavern overlooking the Mediterranean or sample authentic Cypriot coffee. Both are available at an additional cost.
From dramatic gorges and secluded beaches to legendary landmarks, this off-road experience reveals the wilder, less explored side of Cyprus.
The order of visits and the programme may be subject to change.
