Program Description

Penang is a place where cultures, religions and histories meet at every turn. During this two-day tour, you will discover the island’s unique character – from its colonial past to its rich Asian heritage.

Your journey begins with a flight from Langkawi to Penang, followed by a visit to Georgetown, a city recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will experience a fascinating mix of colonial, Chinese and Indian architecture.

The programme includes a visit to the impressive Reclining Buddha, one of the longest reclining Buddha statues in the world. You will then head to Kek Lok Si Temple, also known as the Temple of a Thousand Buddhas – the largest Buddhist temple complex in Southeast Asia.

You will also explore historical landmarks such as Fort Cornwallis, linked to the early British presence on the island. Another highlight is Clan Jetties, a unique water village where homes are built on stilts and communities are organised by family names.

The tour continues along Pitt Street, often called the “Street of Harmony”, where churches, mosques and temples of different religions stand side by side. You will also visit Khoo Kong Si, an intricately decorated Chinese clan house and one of the finest examples of traditional architecture in Penang.

After the sightseeing programme, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, followed by hotel check-in and free time. The next day, after breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your flight back to Langkawi, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

The order of visits and the programme may change.
